WHAT IS THE GOALKEEPER  PATHWAY?

THE GOALKEEPER PATHWAY is a concept created by Greg Sutton. This testing evaluation pathway is designed for young soccer goalkeepers and is an ultimate opportunity to be visible to pro level scouting and is instrumental for new talent to be discovered. Young goalkeepers will have the opportunity to be identified, evaluated and potentially showcased towards high-level recruitment.

IDENTIFICATION TESTING EVALUATION PROCESS

The primary goal for this evaluation process is to help identify talented young goalkeepers through testing.  Registered participants will take place in testing sites in partnerships with local and regional clubs and associations throughout the provinces.

At the end of each season top prospects from each different age group who have excelled in the testing evaluation pathway, will have the potential to be seen from scouts, coaches, associated with MLS clubs from that province along with other provincial and high performance center scouts.

ATHLETES TARGETED

For easier athlete identification and allowing a conducive testing environment, the age groups will be divided between U10 and U18 male and female.

The invitation is extended to any participant that is interested in the position. Also for those that are curious to see what higher level goalkeeping consists of, and of course goalkeepers interested in being tested and catalogued for future reference.

GOALKEEPER TESTING AND EVALUATION CRITERIA

The testing evaluations will be uniformed allowing for a fair, comprehensive and efficient identification process.

The testing process will range from the foundations of athleticism to specifics of goalkeeping. Some examples of the testing evaluation elements would include: catching, and hand eye coordination exercises, speed and agility exercises, along with body measurement data of each participant.

This specifically designed testing process will ensure the best prospects are recognized for potential recruitment to high performance academies, centers and teams.

DATA BASE

Upon the completion of the testing evaluation process, results and statistics will be listed in a data base that can be viewed by all interested parties.   It will be classified by age and gender. This ranking system will be a clear indicator of where each goalkeeper stands amongst their peers in their respective age group.   This list will be updated periodically to allow for monitoring the potential growth of each goalkeepers from year to year through an evaluation system.  These examples along with others makes this database an essential element to our platform.

Privacy of each participant will be adhered to and sharing of data with interested parties will be allowed only by consent of the participant.
