GREG SUTTON
Greg Sutton was a professional goalkeeper for 14 years. He was drafted by the Chicago Fire in Major League Soccer in 1999 where he played for two seasons. In 2001, he joined the Montreal Impact playing six seasons for the club. Greg was instrumental for the team in 2004 winning the USL Championship while being named the league MVP. As impressive, he was named the league goalkeeper of the year for four years running from 2003-2006.
In 2007, Greg was transferred to Toronto FC. He played in TFC’s inaugural season in MLS followed by two more seasons before being acquired by the New York Redbull of MLS in 2010. After two seasons with New York, Greg returned back to Montreal in 2012 where he joined the Impact in their inaugural season in MLS, and his last as a professional.
In 2019 he became the third player to be honored and inducted into the C.F. Montreal Wall of Fame for his achievements with the club.
Greg also represented Canada from 1999-2009 participating in Olympic and World cup qualifying games along with participating in three Gold Cups for the men’s national team.
Greg is currently the head coach of the men’s and women’s soccer programs at Concordia University.
